Identity and Branding

A New and Streamlined Brand Identity

All Party Writers Group (APWG) was established in November 2007, its aims to represent the interests of all writers, to safeguard their intellectual property rights, and to ensure they receive a fair level of recognition and reward for their contribution to the economy and society as a whole. All party groups allow MPs and Lords from all sides of the political spectrum to keep both government and opposition parties informed on specific policy issues, considering opinions from both in and outside Parliament.

The APWG has tackled many issues since it was established, and continues to support, campaign and ensure that the writer’s voice is always heard.

Post-consultation, it was evident the new identity and flexible brand styling carried a non-negotiable challenge: developing a scheme that successfully worked alongside the Government’s recognised portcullis logomark.

Tackling Issues by Clear Communications

We wanted to provide a strong yet simplified visual language to coherently support and promote the organisation’s activities. The APWG is known to articulate and evidence issue and recommendations super succinctly, it seemed natural to follow an exploratory route of developing a speech box device. This organically resulted in providing a contextual bridge from action to visual. We then extended this by creating a series of supporting assets for use across a multitude of visual applications.

Further development and application across print and digital has seen the styling bloom and adapt.
